Results from Danish Fertility Clinics

Danish fertility clinics publish detailed data on their treatment outcomes every year. All fertility treatments are registered with the Danish Health Authority. The results depend on several factors, including the type of treatment, the woman’s age, and whether own eggs or donor eggs are used.

FACTORS

Factors Affecting the Success Rate:

  • Woman’s age:This is the most decisive factor. The chance of pregnancy decreases significantly with age, especially after the age of 40.

  • Type of treatment:IVF and ICSI generally have higher success rates compared to insemination, particularly for older women or in cases of more complex infertility.

  • Egg quality and quantity:Not all egg retrievals result in usable eggs, and not all fertilized eggs reach the blastocyst stage and can therefore be used for transfer.
